    What year is this from? I'm working on a 1990 Evinrude XP 150hp V6 and wondering if it's the same carbs / procedure

    • @theoutdoorsportsmen
      @theoutdoorsportsmen 7 днів тому

      Hello, thanks for your question. And for checking in, the video was done quite a few years ago, but that year and model engine you have are the same carburetor type and the same procedure to clean and rebuild them Johnson kept that same type of carburetor all the way through the 80s and 90s. And even up into some of the 2000s. So it was a pretty good and reliable carburetor. The only difference in the earlier models is they had butterfly chokes and adjustable low-speed jets.Thank you for watching the video and for your comment

    Hi, great video and I watched it a couple of times question that I have is that if you look at the rotation of the impeller when you take it off the boat and the impeller blades in the stainless steel housing and then put the new impeller on the boss and have the housing all greased up and put it on and then turn it to the right as you’re facing it that would put the impeller blades in the other direction. Can you check that out because the physics of it show the right hand direction rotation of the cover gives you the wrong direction of the blade on the impeller. Thank you so so much. Have a great day. Look forward to hearing from you Michael V.

      Hey Mike, thanks for watching. I'm gonna check on that.I just can't this evening work it out in my head, I think the correct answer is, it doesn't matter.Because as you go forward the blades on the water pump will change. I've always put my housing on and twisted it clockwise as I installed the housing over the water pump. But I will check that out for you and get back to you tomorrow for sure Jim

    • @theoutdoorsportsmen

    I bought one of these a couple years ago to replace the one that came with the rod I bought (same reel). Both got tangled up inside and trashed after not that much use! Is there something I'm doing wrong?

    • @theoutdoorsportsmen
      @theoutdoorsportsmen 2 місяці тому

      Hello, We've never had that problem with the new Zebco reels. It could be the way you're spoiling line on the. reel. That could have a lot to do with it because it could be twisting line as it goes on the real. You might try just spooling the line on it a different way. And sometimes, if you're not using a swivel at the end of the line, that could also do it Thanks for watching and commenting.

    With leaded line how do you tell when you at the bottom with your bait and are just moving at a idle

    • @theoutdoorsportsmen
      @theoutdoorsportsmen 3 місяці тому

      the best thing to do if you're going to be fishing that close to the bottom with lead core line is to watch your rod tips. You'll be able to tell when your bait is hitting the bottom From the action on your rod tip. Because your rod tip will hop whenever it hits different objects on the bottom. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching and for your comment. Please keep checking in for other videos.

    Im from Hickory but I do more Rhodhiss fishing. Thats where the biggins is at. But what access did you put in at? What bait did you use? What direction did you drift?

    • @theoutdoorsportsmen
      @theoutdoorsportsmen 6 місяців тому

      Wow, man. Love this comment. " You want all my secrets " Well, here you go. I always put my boat in at the Connelly Springs access on the cornelly Spring road. I just feel safer there. The bait I use most of the time if I'm drifting any Lake is usually fresh cut bait (bream) or shad. I'm sure that day we were using probably fresh cut bream. And the direction usually I'll start from the bridge and drift close to the river channel all the way up to where the sewer treatment plant is on the left. And then I will turn around and start back the other way. It really depends on the wind. If the wind's blowing, then i would have to use my trolling motor to keep a good direction of travel on my drift. Hey, thanks for tuning in and watching. Hope you subscribe and keep up with us on the channel. We do a lot of local fishing around here, thanks again. Jim

    Hey there I have some deer that we’ve been feeding in our backyard for quite some time now, we’ve always used corn and sometimes we’ll throw 40 pound bags of apples, nectarines and carrots. I just recently found out about salt lick so I went to buy a few at our local farm store but they only had 5 pounds bags of powder. I got several bags but now I’m trying to find out the best way to use it, we don’t have any stumps back there. Can you offer up some guidance on how to use this stuff, should I just put some in a pile or sprinkle it around? Also our trees are still shedding leaves so is it going to make a difference if leaves get on the top of it? Our yard is pretty open but we’ve got several acres of wooden wetlands that are at the back of our yard. Maybe I’m just overthinking things, please dumb it down for me 🙈

    • @theoutdoorsportsmen
      @theoutdoorsportsmen 9 місяців тому

      Hello, thank you for your comment, we'll try to answer your question. As far as having a stump or stumps on your property, it's not entirely necessary. We have seen where people have just taken the salt or the mineral salt and just spread them on the ground and had much success that way. Once they do find them, they will keep at that area. And they will rake all the leaves back. And all the dirt and twigs and just make a big, clear area trying to get the salt. So if you're just found a good place close to where the deer were traveling would be an ideal spot for you to make a salt lick or to put out mineral salt. if you have any further questions or If I didn't answer everything to meet your question, just let me know. Once again, thank you for watching and for tuning in to pir UA-cam channel. - Jim

    • @theoutdoorsportsmen
      @theoutdoorsportsmen 9 місяців тому

      follow up: You don't have to make your area too big. Maybe 6 feet diameter and just sprinkle and spread the mineral salts around that area. Don't worry about to leaves. They will find them and move the leaves. Also, just try to pick out an area where the deer are moving close to the area you're gonna use to attract them. Using apples and other things that they are eating is a good way to get them to You're salt lick.

    How do I know when the depth is properly adjusted? Do I have to reel in every cast? How do I know if I’m too deep? Please help

    • @theoutdoorsportsmen
      @theoutdoorsportsmen 10 місяців тому

      Okay, thanks for your question. If you have a depth finder on your boat, you need. To first find out at what depth the fish are at.. At that point, most rods from the reel to the first eye is roughly about 2 feet. So one way you can do that is you can count. Pull out line from your reel to the first eye and count, Every pull from the reel to the first eye should be two feet as you go down and that's one way that you can keep track of your depth if you are using a spinning reel, They usually have a little tab that's on the spool. You can put your line and hook it to that tab on the spool that and it will get you back down there every time in the same place Thanks again for watching, and thank you for your comment.
